Why Visit?

Newcastle city & beach is located at the mouth of the Hunter River in New South Wales, and features some great coffee shops, bars, surf breaks, walking and bike trails. A great place to explore the Hunter Valley wine region and only 2.5 hours drive from Sydney.

Adventure and Exercise from Newcastle Beach

1 hour and 15 minute round trip walk | 5.6 km. Starting at Newcastle Beach through Bogey Hole, King Edward Park, Centennial Park then up to Anzac Memorial Walk and the Stretzelecki Lookout return to Newcastle Beach.

1 hour bike ride | 12.1 km. Design your own bike, walk or run on this 12km circular trip and visit all or some of the following places: Newcastle Beach, Nobby’s Beach Lighthouse, Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, Carrington Bridge, Islington Park and Cafe INU. See Google Maps.

1 hour 20 minute bike ride, 22 kmA round trip bike ride or run incorporating a great hill, where you finish in Stockton and can catch the ferry back over to the city. See Google Maps.
